dorsal fin thn - 2 & white hairs on symphysis 11 hairs on tip of castrum all in bundles - on trig beak 5-0 cnt. back of end of blowhole is a clump bunch of short yellowish hair, very stiff. between blowholes at posterior end is another smaller bundle - The larger bundle is also a little larger than a dollar - Seven long bundles in right margin with hairs on four of them. The pelvic bones of this whale measure as follows: Left (straight) = 23-7 mil, " " (curved) = 25-6 " Right (straight) = 25-0 " " " (curved) = 26.0 " A third prolongation of cartilage extends on the end of each bone, 60 mil long; this cartilage looks much like bone & can only be dist. carefully pressed it when its there is covered by a little fat, by cutting. The pro- longations at the anterior end an its left bone is 50 mil long. The anterior end of the right posterior bone is shortest & thickest; is attached by cartilage & ligaments to the root of the spine. at the joint of curve of ribbons, where a verte- gal femur would be attached, no sign by it was to be found and as we cut it fresh away most carefully, it could not possibly have been missed. No spot.
