V-138 "Mina" Garpar J. April 1854. Collected by Mr Squires of the "Nancock" who says in his Catalogue, No 5-- "This bird is found in Java only in the mountainous districts. It is very wild and shy, but when caught is easily tamed and readily learns to speak. Its tones are clear and distinct and it imitates the human voice with surprising accuracy V-139 Small bird which flew on board after a storm off the South end of Formosa Sept 25th 1854. Olivaceous above, becoming brownish or blackish posteriorly (on wings and tail feathers. Throat white and a white line from the base of the bill along above the eye. Breast pale yellow; Alders bright yellow. Tail with exterior 2 feathers on each side white underneath. Root of tail below palish yellow. Feet dark grey. Bill black except basal part below which is greyish horn colored
