Hong Kong, China April 1854 [illegible] 22nd The weather at present very bad cloudy, misty and rainy. The Moun- tains of Hong Kong are almost con- tantly covered with clouds, which only disappear about once in a full- night. 23rd Sunday The weather very bad; raining most of the time. I remained on board ship all day, (in fact I have not been ashore for a fortnight) reading that great old book
