Laredo 93 Monday Feb 23 1945 Ships I, Lighthouse, Auk and Hecarpiy were ordered back over the ice - cap with a bunch of this, birds and meat. We will proceed towards Cape Thomas Hubbard caught on top of the hill near ice-cap after last drink. Sleep in open. Temps - 55° in afternoon. Little west light N wind at night. She gave me following orders: 1. Proceed to big rock in Hayes Sound & bring on all oil. 2. Bring 30 cans of pemmican from glacier. 3. Cerulean, pemmican, milk & biscuit every other march from glacier (Wait 2 Point last first). To Cape Thomas Hubbard each the very 4th march. 4. Go thru all my's personal boxes & equipment & bring sweet chocolate & everything else that might be needed. 5. In case I find loads too heavy cash everything except enough to get my division there, & gets oil for him & enough food & oil to get Auk & Harpiy back to pick up provision cached. 6. In case dog fish take 2 teams of 3 but & send Hecarpiy back. In case more fish take last mine & proceed alone & left with a pals of oil & food for myself.
