75 Thursday Dec. 4 - 1923 Jos.'s white bitch has given birth to roughly five puppies. Our sleeping bags are being made now out of extra caribou skins. They are half length and somewhat thinner than our parkas, which are of the Greenland caribou. We are experimenting with our stoves and other field equipment. We are having a good deal of fun trying to get a suitable box for the stove and fire. Monday December 8 - 1923 On Saturday the 6th a big party latched up under the electric light outside our front door. 4 domestics were going south visiting and seven men were going north to canoe-country with Ed and me. Hal went south with Davidjak. We left at 7:20 am and had covered the 25 miles at about 3:00 pm. The men built 2 igloos connected by a snow passage. We carried up & cached the following: Red currants 6 cases Blue " 4 " biscuit (white) 4 - 1/2 cases milk 4 cases whole wheat bix 2 "
