66 Friday Nov 7 -1913 Ike and Allen are working on their farms- this indoor occupation is almost nec- essary in this blustery weather. Dan's is laid up with his broken arm and finds it hard to be quiet after an active autumn. Rachel & Chuteskie returned over the hill today from Annacotta bring us eggs and lardons meat from their cackles up there. Sunday Nov 9 -1913 Yesterday we had batter and beans for lunch. The circulating pipe that runs outside has a finnish way of getting water inside and freezing up. Then I as took our regular Sunday afternoon walks. We went around Sunrise Point in a sunther of drifting snow; 20 less gotten down to 20 below zero now and any wind is most uncomfortable. Monday Nov 10 -1913 Joe's Birthday We celebrated this event by getting early & giving up for a Powderin yell with three men Yellan's at the end of it. At dinner he had a birthday cake with candles. The men built an igloo over the tile gas pipe today. It was the first snow house that most I no had seen.
