280 Thursday July 16 - 95 Weather cleared this evening & wind headed to W. Hal returned with the news that Mac + Ethel gone south in the day with bepladdyches & biquine . Sammy & Th this morning returned late in the evening. Hal brought some up on which we commenced. Sunday July 18 - 95 Clear & warm, calm. +44° Yesterday & today are the first really good days since July 2nd. Mac, Jr., Abbie, Katherine, bepladdyches, & Ethel all returned this A.M. Ice presented them sailing to Cape Sable. They brought eggs + several ducks. Monday July 19 - 1905 Good weather gone To hell! Wind & clouds again. Jerome & I went to Island. Thursday July 22 - 95 SW gale with snow . +32° I killed a large upstart on Monday just south of the island. Sunday A.M. I got a real, Sammy came out & trabs in a load of meat + skins. He also got seed near the islands. Wednesday I pushed further. Last night the South wind rose to a gale & brought snow.
