16 Battle Harbor Salvador. Saturday July 19 - 1913. Clear and cool. Waking at 4:00 a.m. I was awake at the time and several times during the night. Each time it was quite clear. When I saw the Captain about 7:30 he remarked that "it was a good thing we did not go last night because it was pretty thick this morn- ing!" Arriving Battle Harbor about 10:00 a.m., Mr. [illegible] and Swell came out to meet us in the motor boat. Mr. [illegible] has requested them to give us a new ship and they have given us to understand that they will back us up. Battle Harbor. Sunday July 20 Rain and colder. Just can't needed as I brought out some of our personal belongings which are in very bad shape. For their dry clothes. We have gotten two mails and are reading one book.
