--FOREVER 197 Thursday November 19-1914 Cloudy with light wind and rains -8° I took my newly came up to our front door step this morning. With a few blues and so ice I believe that we should get wet. Tand and [illegible] accompanied me arrived at breakfast time and had a bite with us. [illegible] just brought as a present of a very nice piece of carbon meat on which our mouths are always watering. This evening we had almost a real party while we were eating dinner two farmers drove up and seemed to be accompanied by a whole tribe of squirrels and dogs. [illegible] from [illegible] explained that he wished a picture of each of the women, [illegible], and [illegible], then a group picture. There were six of the young people beside the women. After the picture taking was over they all looked at my model pictures and then quarreled for nuts with my little race track game. When the crowd went further turned on the string of lights outside, the falling snow under the brilliant light was very beautiful. [illegible] is wrestling with algebra and I am following out my usual routine. I walked on the island today as the icefoot was so near from the high tide. Our visitors made today seem very short.
