FOREVER
143
Tuesday September 10 - 1924
We took advantage of the good weather &
worked on the hills. In the afternoon a sudden
wind stopped all such work for here fingers now
became numb in their full pages.
Wednesday Sept. 11 - '24
Jerome planned today with the batteries.
Just got breakfast I shot into a flock of young ducks &
thought I wounded one. We took the fletch &
went in pursuit. We got none and had a
long hard full back to the house in the teeth of
a heavy stormy wind.
Jerome worked on the batteries this afternoon.
Thursday September 17 - '24
Jerome worked on the batteries all day finally
getting them all into the lichen built along the south
wall of our living room.
I worked on the rock wall behind the
house. It is possible that if this wall be
made high enough and to extend far enough
beyond the frame of the house a snow drift may
form along our north wall to protect us on the
side.
