136 E T This afternoon th & I walked over to the tide page, continuing around into Art's valley and down over the hill. We saw six rabbits and I had the good fortune to shoot one. Aug 22 - Aug 29 - 1914 This was rather a memorable week. Jerome & I went to the Island with the hunting party that left on Sunday afternoon. We landed -T- at once and laid the foundation & floor of our house that night. The whole week we worked day away steadily until the following Sunday when we had finished the house 10'x12', a shed & started a corral. Besides this we had gotten the electrical gear inside and Jerome had almost fin- ished putting up the engine. Altogether we felt that it was a very creditable week's work for only two men. In the meantime a N.E. gale had been raging. We could not have left our desert island had we as provided for one little boat so pretty light. It turned out later that the motor boat had been lost by wind and high seas & had just into Marthi for shelter. She party had killed two dolphins and several seals. Art built weddishly had gotten a good many rabbits.
