116 Sunday May 7 - 1914 left camp at 9:00 PM last night & arrived at big cache in Hayes Sound at 8:00 AM, going very heavy. I could not find the cache wheel but him moved them. Later I saw some sticks in the snow & following the line they indicated found the cache. Monday May 18 - 1914 me & I put 100 lbs. biscuits on Th E end of the sled near the Camp. We had a long hard march thru heavy snow to the place where the 2 tents were cached. We slept on our kerosene tins. We stopped at 4:30 AM to give the dogs rest & make tea. Tuesday May 19 - 1914 when we started the weather looked fine- early. Later we ran into S.W. wind & snow fro- th in ref: The snow on the ice first was heavy & we made slow progress. We had a tussle to reach Sunday's cairn to Frame Haven in Rice Strait.
