August 6. Finished sorting and cataloging all specimens by noon, but most from Barnard River still not in papers by 2pm. After lunch, looked at specimens on dryer overnight - found them disappointingly wet. Put many out to air- dry & to make room for new material in press. By 6:00 pm. had everything either in press on the heater or else out exposed to dry air of room - a great relief, ca Donning. I worked most of day putting them in papers. Finally found Fissidens, not seen in field - other things will undoubtedly turn up. Dinner at Brown's. A real storm - walking home from lab was like being pitched.
