August 1. Up room after 6:00 & breakfast at 6:30. Weather dense but higher ceiling than yesterday. However, during breakfast, fog came back in, although with some visibility, so Humphrey decided to try Bernard River. Took off at 8:00 a., with such poor visibility, went up west wards of Banks I. at 200-300 ft. alt., in stead of overland, to be sure of reaching right river. Weather alternately worse & better - but essentially better than Sacha Harbour. Before take off, gave Davidson 2 rolls of Kodachrome as slight recompense for his courtesy & hospitality - with so much bad weather this summer I am long on film.
