promise of being back in 4 hours. went down to lake just N of camp or runway - eventually went around lake. Wind extremely wild when working into it, but- bearable when at back - we should have brought our parkas. Lake shore quite rich - wet for vegetation, but tundra itself very dry in spite of mist, consisting of a dry dusty silt in clods. Got Sphagnum vacuolosum & a peculiar Sphagnum moss - [illegible], but not typical ? - in quantity, and enough Cinnidin latifolium for exsiccata. Back to Camp at 6:00 with large plastic bag & 2 smaller ones full, for Sorting later. Davison had taken Dorothy & pilots on tour of village, down on seashore
