Smoke bomb, which would probably be more effective. The mountains south of the Ogontz creek of black shale, very acid and sterile, but I had to see them to be sure. Will now put main emphasis on limestone mountains on north. The wearal situation here is bad, with only one or two in operation, so most of my work will have to be on foot. Big turkey dinner - we ate too much. Spent evening sorting yesterday's collections & recording them - Dorothy got them into papers. We have lab space with Dr. Packer who is counting chromosomes of local plants.
