July 14 (Sunday). Cold
night, and another foggy,
rainy, cold and windy
morning. Finally out at
10:00, working on the north
slope of the "east ridge"
behind camp. Worked up
near the summit, then
down to about halfway,
to intersect ridge running
east nearly to the Pilly
Fork of the Nuska River, then,
some tundra before reaching
river. River runs not
fast, what with all the recent
rain. Got a Hygrophilum
on rocks in the river. Found
first Dodecatheon aren in
area on banks. Walked down
river a half mile or so, then
west to isolated ridge near
