that someone had installed a vertical pipe in rocks at highest part of E. end of ridge. Then down & back to camp via E. end, north slope. Out 2½ hours & rather wet, in spite of rain. Shedding quality of anorak. Picked up several things not yet collected & got a lot of F. jacksonii, in the hope of finding more F. Jackii, collected more or less by accident at Driftwood in 19st. Stormy evening so dark that I located drum of white gas on beach, filled empty Jerry can in wagon, assembled & filled new Coleman lantern & got it going. With propane stove, not much need for white gas unless we get outboard going.
