June 29. To lab after breakfast at home. Inspected books and maps & got lab (#10) squared away. Got paper bags from Stockroom upstairs, then got freezers, blotters, ventilators, newspapers & plastic bags - now all set for field work. In afternoon went out on tundra behind base, toward the gas well, for a couple of hours. The snow melt off was unusually early this year & so the tundra seems dryer than usual. Talked to May Brewer about getting into the field - we may go to Deade River on Monday. Must do a lot of sorting of gear at home, too.
