cold current, Harok across the bay could be seen a sea of peculiar leaping waves, apparently several feet tall and travelling directly away from across the bay at right angles to the initial direction of the great bore. After the bore passed the crowd dispersed elbowing and jostling each other down the narrow streets of the Chinese village nearby. Our party was captured by 6 Americans who were residents of Hangchow, 3 of them engaged in Standard Oil and 3 in the B.A.T. Co.
