There was a Japanese Opera running by Malay talent, The actors sang well & the principals acted well. The audience was nearly all Malay & laughed whenever any humorous incidents occurred. The women wear colored skirts but the Burmese resemble them in color & feature, but are less pretty than we all have large lower lips & projecting teeth like Japanese.
