we passed wearing light straw hats that they care to take no precautions against sunstroke & often wear small cloth sailor caps in this climate while a soldier or landsmen must wear a helmet or he is reprimanded. The sailor for some reason is supposed to be immune to sunstroke. After visiting the balters on hark andy is an anchor to the reserve which is still 4 miles. It is a beautiful sheet quarter surrounded by natural forest trees at the entrance where there saloon & shrubbery. Afterward we drove to a larger river & near one 2 miles further. Both of these places were guarded.
