mountain forests, some of
the trees I recognized, at
4000 feet & below many grand
or screw palms were lined,
a little lower were seen a few
of wild jack fruit, I noticed
at 2000 feet many panicles
of the carrina flowered short
with horizontally opposite placed
leaves first seen at Friguel
near Finchow. There were also
many of the white bracted
pandaled flowers so common
in Guern-man. Ten grades
continued down to 2000 feet
at 4000 feet I saw a group
of 3 large brown Macaques
sitting on trees motorside
from the track.
