Yesterday there was a similar fog whirling down from the hills the valley being filled by a freezing white mass in which we could look down to the valley where the sun was shining brightly as we descended. (18) The next last night people were filling the village with loads for the market day, all morning they streamed in by small parties carrying loads on their backs or poles & knives for hire.
