On the way men camp I saw a striped squirrel on large chipmunks ride across the road but failed to shut it. Morning partly cloudy but my mist. Hard over tiffin (place the road descended all afternoon into a rather deep valley in which were several villages. The largest or market village was Itza - Mereng. The way passed then beyond that made camps in the hill on the edge of the valley. Here we saw some women with children
