10. Solanum (Yellow fruit) A shrubby weed in alvar soil 11. Jessamine - A common flowering shrub 12. Red Flowered Shrubs. Tubulos. Common near river. Description general Valley deep, V shaped about 3,000 feet in depth. Rock on east side limestone or west bank shale chiefly. Soil red clay or shale gravel with yellow clay. Climate cool in March. Morning calm afternoon with good breeze from inner from 1 PM to sunset. Night to clear calm. No original forest seen, only a few trees at riverside to scattered growth of poplars, trees on grass covered hillsides. West side little cultivated; some here occur like trees, but x fall. Very little bainto or mudgrass seems, chiefly tall slender grass 3 feet high or hillsides.
