here, Some at timber-line are large as trees but wide-spreading thorn-like in habit; On Spring the floral display here must be wonderful. We caught many small Micrones at timber-line & a large card Aprodonus in size & color like our Peronyxus, [illegible] (15) A fresh bit from today: went serum hunting but returned at 10 O'c wth another good no serum having been seen. This good he shot as I ran down cliff sharply. the dog, I caught 2 new shrews today, one a new genus to me p[ar]t/ very rident hair & club-shaped tail. The other was a [illegible], I also trapped a Pachyura like the small one & look at the temple with valley. The weather was bravely cloudy, just the night was clear; saw Aldrovana bird yesterday.
