Egg Measurements + Nest Descriptions
Brown Booby (Sula leucogaster)

Southwest Isd., Pearl + Hermes Reef
(All egg measurements are in millimeters)
14.) AF 1 egg: 43.65 x 63.65. Diameter 16", bowl 5" and poorly
defined, Depression 1". Construction primarily of grass stems +
roots (Cynodon + Leptinus?) with very little Trichulus and a few
small pieces of driftwood + several feathers.
15.) AF 2 eggs: 41.15 x 57.15", 42.80 x 63.00. Diameter 21", bowl
9", Depression 2 3/4". Construction of Trichulus, grass,
Solanum leaves and several feathers.
16.) AF 1 egg: 39.90 x 68.45. Diameter 19", Bowl 8" well defined,
Depression 2 1/4". Construction mostly of grass stems (Cynodon?)
Trichulus and driftwood. One feather in nest of this species.
Egg was bullet-shaped:
17.) AF 2 eggs: 38.85 x 60.95; 40.45 x 60.75. Diameter 18", Bowl 8",
Depression 1 3/4". Construction materials: Trichulus, Sicyos and driftwood.
18.) AM 1 egg: 41.10 x 60.60. Diameter 16", Bowl 7", Depression 2 1/2"
Construction of [illegible] Trichulus with some grass (Cynodon?).
19.) AF 2 eggs: 40.40 x 63.45; 41.2 x 61.9. Diameter 19", Bowl 7 x 9",
Depression 1 3/4". Construction: Trichulus, [illegible], grass stems +
roots (Cynodon + Leptinus?) and feathers.
20.) AF 2 eggs: 41.50 x 61.60; 41.80 x 58.90. No measurements.
Small amount of Trichulus and grass roots + numerous bones. Nest
very scant and sloppy.
