Hachemen, C.D. 1965 Journal 16 February 1 Harvard Island Five immature Red-feet sitting around in the colony. Two, still a little hesitant about leaving the vicinity of their nests, were easily captured and banded. Four incubating adults were also captured and their band numbers recorded. Late in the evening the Sooty Tern colony near the Amelia Earhart light house began to spread inland as more and more birds came into the island. These birds are getting in small, circular clearings in the Tridulus. A few eggs are already being laid in this section of the colony which at present looks like this [diagram] Beach: Max, Dick + I began blood sampling of Sooty Terns at dusk. The vacutainers did not work very well on the Sooty Terns but provided excellent results from the large birds such as Blue-faced boobies and Frigate. A total of 90 Sooty Tern were sampled.
