Since we are taking two new ones there isn't much point in having them checked other than a perfunctory one by the ship's crew. January 16 Honslulu Jan Ely called this morning after Max had left to go to the Bishop Museum to check on the entomologist who is supposed to go with us. She wanted us to pick up a freezer chest from Pan Am. Max returned around noon. Around 1 p.m. I took the car and went out to the airport to get the freeze. It just barely fit into the car. I took the lid off and then shuffed and pulled until it finally popped through the door. Since the freeze was so large I took it directly out to the Ely's where I again had quite a struggle getting it out of the car. It went in much easier than it came out.
