There seemed to be much open water.
About 8 p.m. the "Ingerlis" started
out toward Cape Atrol with Rosmun-
den, Dr. Hunt and Eskimoos
going after little auks (atle put h i
ats), grass for karrites and wal-
us. Peter and Koch came
over here after the boat left.
9 August Wednesday.
Cloudy. Thick fog from mid after-
oon on. Wind, N 1-2 at 8a; S 1 at 10a. variable
Chilly after the fog & came ice. Wind seem-
ed to come more from W or W by N. and swing in
around the Umakak so as to seem to come fr. S.W.
Temp. 8a. 44°; 12 m. 41°; 4h. 39°
Etc went to the top of the Umakaks again di-
rectly after breakfast this morning and
recovered my note book which had dropped.
