Nearly overcast and cloudy all
day, with occasionally a little rain.
Wind moderate from east or north-
east, not strong enough to disturb the
ice in the bay. Disagreeable & chilly.

Rasmussen called just as we were fin-
ishing breakfast. He fell to on the pan-
cakes and maple syrup with enjoyment.
Staid an hour and a half. Interesting man.
I went out in the afternoon and col-
lected some mosses for Mrs. Streetor
on the rock terrace a half mile or so
north
south of Pete's house. Also got some
of the little willow which grows only 1 1/2-2"
tall and has only two or four leaves.
Noted a fine small surface of diabase
showing trigonal and hexagonal parting
and some creep down the slope.
