The sailors on watch on each deck either ring the bow phone or call (twice) and then point if they see a bird. The sailor on watch on the fan tail rings the deck 4 times and the deck rings us 4 times. This works out very well, and we are getting excellent cooperation from their watches. They are constantly spotting birds and pointing them out to us. I believe we are getting maximum coverage. 0550--Bulwers?
