Notes: This Zygomycete has been treated by subsequent workers as a synonym of Sclerocystis (von Höhnel 1910, Thaxter 1922, Clements and Shear 1931, Martin 1939, Gerdemann and Trappe 1974). The genus is named for Ackermann who was lost in the eruption of Mount Pelée in Martinique on May 8, 1902. Trematophlyctis Pat., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 34: 86. 1918. Type species (only original species): Trematophlyctis lepto- desmiae Pat. Notes: The genus was originally described as a Myxomycete. Patouillard commented that it might be a Plasmodiophora, which, judging by the illustration, it certainly resembles. Deuteromycetes Antromycopsis Pat. & Trab., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 13: 215. 1897. Type species (only original species): Antromycopsis broussonetiae Pat. & Trab. Notes: Pollack and Miller (1976) have discovered that the type species is the imperfect stage of Pleurotus cystidiosus O. K. Miller. They give a detailed description of conidiogenesis.
