Conopoderas atypha erema Wetmore. (Type locality: Makatea.) Makatea: Townsend. Conopoderas atypha, subspecies. Hereheretue: Townsend. Only one specimen, in alcohol, "but there is little question but that it is distinct." (Wetmore.) Conopoderas, species. "Gambier" (Mangareva?): Garrett. "Disappointment" (Napuka?): Peale. Kawehe: Peale (heard). Manihi: Peale (heard). Raraka: Peale (heard). These islands are probably inhabited by various forms of un- described species of the genus. Peale was at the above islands for a period of about two hours each, so did not have much time to collect species he thought he had already found on other islands. To him this genus represented one variable species.
