SULIDAE.
(Bennett, in his "Narrative of a Whaling Voyage", vol. 2 (appendix),
gives notes on the fresh colors of various boobies observed by him in
the Pacific islands, from which it appears that much remains to be
done before a final determination of the forms inhabiting Polynesia
can be attempted. Distances are great in this region, and there are
many widely separated colonies of the genus Sula, which makes it de-
sirable that careful notes on the colors of soft parts be taken of
the birds of each group of islands, particularly of isolated colonies.)

(Frigate birds were numerous on Henderson (Stephen; Tait & Jamieson)
