Netherlands New Guinea 850m. 172 moss traps, 216 rat traps, 27 stick traps, 449 grass - 1 Melomys. From 231 grass X 2 days at 1200 m camp - 1 Echymipera. This morning tended traps, prepared specimens, and spent 2 hrs standing on the ridge above camp for locality in which it set traps. This afternoon met 101 rat traps south of camp along an Agathis ridge. It a good looking locality. This morning caught Critter, 2 solices, 1 convict left for Burntad Camp. Weather: Overcast with frequent rains. Heavy wind this evening. Mar. 15 4km SW Burntad Camp Idenburg R. Netherlands New Guinea 850m. 155 moss traps, 209 rat traps, 27 stick traps, 442 grass - 1 Echymipera, 3 Keropetes, 1 Melomys This morning tended inside during the flight of the Guba to Idenburg. Later prepared specimens. Afternoon sent 155 moss traps. I am living trouble with the moss traps. They are tricking at the rate of about 2 per day. This afternoon transport came in from Burntad Camp bringing feed, fuel, mail, and special orders. Weather: Morning until 10.30 light broken overcast with much sunshine.
