Today two spent in setting traps. 229 (3 holes) rat traps, 125 + more traps to + stick traps. The rat traps are set at the east and south end of camp on trails through the mangrove forest. The more traps & stick traps are set in the north & south west of camp. The region is what Bress calls the mangrove forest. It is composed of a moderately heavy growth of fruit trees which are laden with moss. The ground at the north is also covered with moss. It is in lay and small trails through this mangrove that fly traps are set. There are still a number of persons about camp bringing in sweet potatoes to sell, helping with the clearing etc. Morgan has solicited the aid of two natives to help him in his work, trapping, making camp, etc. They appear to be quite apt at first off and get into the work readily. There were 16 today that came in with the transport men bringing approximately 25 kilograms. During the setting of traps through the jungle today I saw 2 dead fells and 3 traps which appeared to be errors. The dead fells are simpler in construction than those seen at the camps above. These however were good and as nearly set (old traps) and as I could see the manner of preparation.
