size of plant, devoid of special reticulation; stem
slender, 2/3 underground, slightly 2-edged; 5-7 cm long;
leaves much exceeding the stem, arcuate, 1/8-2 mm wide;
bracts 2, ovate, abruptly acute, rose-purple; flowers
few to many, 7-9 mm long, on pedicels slightly shorter;
perianth segments white to pinkish, with red midvein,
obtuse, oblong; stamens 1/2 to 2/3 length of segments;
ovary distinctly crested;style shorter than stamens,
about equalling filaments, these rather coarse. Gravel
and sand, confluence of Johns Day and Columbia Rivers,
Sherman Co., Oregon. Differs from A. Brandegei, in-
crested ovary, large bulbs, and very obtuse perianth
segments. From A. parvum, Kell. it differs in its
2-edged stem, narrower leaves, and conspicuously crested
