Band recovery: 1046 o 33 by 33 1/2; several egg pits found.
September 17--Struck camp at 0800 and headed for North Island. Arrived
at North Island 1100 hours.
Population Survey Estimates
Blue-faced Booby - 20 adults, 1 immature
Frigatebird - counted 80 adults in air. 36 locals, 7 immatures on island.
Red-footed Booby - four adults, three immatures.
Common Noddy - estimate 400. A few eggs, mostly locals, some immatures.
Red-tailed Tropicbirds - five adults, 1 immature.
Hawaiian Noddy - estimate 100, roosting.
Fairy Tern - two flew over island.
Wedge-tailed Shearwater - many burrows containing downy chicks.
Estimate maximum of 1000 (adults).
Ruddy Turnstone - 75
Golden Plover 1
Bristle-thighed Curlew - 1 (heard)
Monk Seal: total of 36.
