Cascade auklet - all in bank water, plumage somewhat faded. Some flew. Pigeon Guillemot - only 1 in winter plumage. California hummer - some damage seen on wing feathers. Herring Gull - 3 or 4 at dock. Western Gull - most common - about 700 seen. Heermann's Gull - 1 above I \[illegible] and many others no certainty as to number but about 50 seen. remains in loose or tight on the water. The Island. Some stayed within 12-20 feet of our boat, II flocks were visible when we left at 3:50 p.m. Ruffs and/or Brant Commoners - 2 or 3 Black Oystercatcher - I seen I now I am no need to say I Jackdaws Goose - I seen but south of point, no doubt a few more on land. Northern Pintropes - there were 1,000's in minutes of flight on the beach.
