Calif. 1745-1935 PDST. Vegetation changed from volcanic grasslands with digger pine and blue oak to yellow pine and incense cedar as we climbed to the eastward. Valley Quail - coveryys of 12 and 14 seen Mourning Dove - 75-100 perched in rocky grassland, along fences. California Woodpecker - 5 Lewis Woodpecker in digger pine in blue-oak woodland. Fuddy Horned Lark - many in rocky grassland area Interior California Jay Western Bluebirds Green-backed Goldfinches Lark Sparrows in blue-oak woodland areas. Counend Solitaire [illegible]
