American Coots - 1000's on the refuge. Killdeer Wilson's Snipe - just 2 seen. Least Sandpiper - 1 Avocets - about 30 seen, and John Cowan reports others are present. California Gull-1 Mourning Doves - a few W. Burrowing Owl in plowed field just east of refuge headquarters. Iris bright yellow. Montana R-a. Flickers common W. Crows Ravens Western Mockingbird at headquarters defends Pyracantha for itself. Suisun Long-billed Marsh Wrens - one heard. Ruby-crowned Kinglets in locust trees about headquarters. American Pipits - very common California Shrike on wire lines and isolated tall shrubs. Audubon Warbler- several Western Meadowlark California Bicolor Redwing s - about 750,000 in the refuge area. Brewer Blackbirds - California Purple Finches - small flock American Goldfinches - flocks here and there.
