California Purple Finches - 100's feeding on Turkey Mullein (Eremocarpus setigerus).
Green-backed Goldfinches
Lark Sparrows - 25-30 in flock with purple finches, feeding on turkey mullein.
These two species perched in flocks as well, in the trees, when flushed.

Golden-crowned Sparrows - quite a few adults and immatures in the river brush.

Vultures - 26 circling in tall spiral to the south over open ridgell30 a.m.
These are the first I have seen in a couple of weeks.
Dusky Poor-will - found a nearly fresh specimen at edge of road, evidently hit
by an auto during the twi[illegible]ht of morning or the previous evening.

Redtail - pair soaring over; Flicker, Black Phoebe on rock perches; California
Jays; Bush Tits; Plain Titmouse; San Joaquin Wrens; Hutton's Vireo;
Raccoons, Mink, and black-tailed deer tracks common.
