Later flushed one in the sedge and ash near the southwest corner of the area. Canada Goose - I thought most of the geese had left, but today their numbers probably ran between 2,000 and 3,000. Mallards - No change from yesterday Baldpate - Heard their call notes. Pintails - No change from yesterday Green-winged Teal - About 100 Cinnamon Teal - One male again in the main pond. Shoveller - About the same as yesterday Bufflehead - One male and one female which continually shifting from one place to another. Turkey Vulture Western Red-tail Sharp-shinned Hawk - Along Muddy Cr. at first and then along the fence between the field and the main pond to the S. The black- bird raised quite a commotion over the hawks presence. Marsh Hawk Ruffed Grouse - Flushed one from the ash in the SW corner of the area. Ring-necked Pheasant Virginia Rail - Flushed one in the heavy sedge South of the main swamp outlet. American Coot - same as yesterday Killdeer Greater Yellowlegs - Just the one by the hourse barn. Wilson's Snipe - In the north field Horned Owl - Watched a pair of them flap and flutter from ash to ash about 600 feet south of the Muddy Cr. bridge. They were quite cooperative in letting us observe them. Rufus Hummingbird - Near McFadden's dam. Violet-Green Swallow Tree Swallow Western Crow Oregon Chickadee Seattle Wren Robin Varied Thrush - On the island in the main pond. Pipit - A small flock flew over Audubon's Warbler Pacific Yellow-throat - Heard one from same place as yesterday. Red-wings Purple Finch Oregon Twohee Savannah Sparrows - In the sedge south of the Muddy Cr. Bridge and in the north field. White-crowned Sparrow Song Sparrow Ruddy Duck - Only one Tule Wrens
