K. Amerman 1964 Kenagalein Atoll, Marshall Is. Meyers is a security officer interested in the local fish. He is working with a fish pond that now contains about 46 species, and has plans for aquariums and shell displays. The pond is a ditch-like affair, 3 feet deep and quite clear. If one is patient he can probably see most of the species present in it. Nov 6. Improv. After catching up on field notes yesterday I caught up on letters today. Rain nearly all day. Brinion: I took a taxi to The dump and set out rat traps after supper. Bearing - 100 → 85 → 6? → 86 → 121 → 123 good Nov 7 - ? Reaching sleep, I guess. Nov 8. The others went off in the raft to Nath koi Island after fish, primarily, and birds. I took a taxi up to the dump, picked up the rat traps, cleaned up Lab 2 (shining). Was pleasantly surprised at not finding the expected Nodwit and out-trapped species under the accumulated debris. Stained a Booty Ten - turned out better than any of my other skins. The raft returned in mid afternoon with a packed drum of fish and 2 Common Nodwits, 3 Hawaiian, 1 Fairy Ten.
