28th March 1961 I have just come back from my holiday and I must say that it has been the best time of my life. It was wonderful to be able to sit out on the balcony and watch the birds and flowers. The weather was so good that we could go for long walks every day. We stayed in a little cottage which had everything we needed. The hostess was very friendly and gave us lots of advice about the area. She showed us where to find the best places to eat and where to buy local produce. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the swimming pool. It was heated and there were plenty of towels provided. We spent many hours in the sun, reading books and relaxing. The food was excellent too. We had fresh fish every day, and the vegetables were picked from the garden behind the house. Everything tasted so much better than anything we'd had before. I really hope to go back next year! It would be a shame not to return again. Best wishes, Mary
