Hinkley, Mojave Desert, Calif., nest in a cañon in bad land country, located on a hill- side near the bottom of a small wash, nest placed in a small hole in the soft ground. Nest material could be seen from the wash. Nesting cavity small; hole at entrance also small. Bird flushed on approach. Nest poor, made of grass chiefly.
