into, Dear 2009 Journal MX 175 below Cerro Pelon, Guerra de Juarez, Chacoa, Mexico (cat) Dec.14 We drove back to San Pedro Ysla, stopping at a stream 3.8 km from town to search with lights for ~25 min; I found a Blechistyle or vegetation in the spray zone of a waterfall. We slept in the Palacio Municipal salon de reuniones in San Pedro Ysla. Dec.15 We were low on gas and drove to Valle Pecinal in the morning to fill up. On the way back, we searched in bananas starting in San Mateo Matla and finishing in an area with red bananas around a shrine to the Virgin, 9.2 km from Valle Pecinal, where I found 2 B. reflexa; we searched in about 30 banana plants total. We then returned to La Gloria and searched in Bromeliads from 13:00-16:00. We got 7 more C. flaccida, as well as 2 Leptoglossum with a yellow dorsal stripe that I think are P. saltator. I also got a Graugaster that seems to have a less prominent / no eye stripe; and saw many more just like the ones from yesterday; all these were found on the ground. We drove to La Esperanza and took the road through town that goes downhill. The area near town is all secondary growth of scrub, albeit with some huge bromeliads. We arrived in an area of forest around 1400m that appears to be at the cloud forest - low elevation forest restore, with big (Schmea) bromeliads. Lots of people around so we didn't open any or search. Stayed in La Esperanza, and went back out to search in the forest across MX175 from town when it started raining hard at night, around 21:30. Searched in OK forest with light to moderate rain from 22:45-12:10, but got only a single Graugaster (?) with expanded toe tips on a leaf ~1.5m above the ground. Felt an earthquake around 01:00.
