Daval, E.H. 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov, Panama 26 November 2001 targeting the old ccc's the little hermit let area We netted at CCL1 all morning and caught two CB's - PGY and BRW. We also caught four hummingbirds: three rufus-tailed, one sapphire-throated. German tourists/guiders Karin and Horst Dillard (?) joined us to watch the whole production, and I let them each release a hummingbird. They were intelligent, interested folks who kept exclaiming to the other Germans (Clara, Mechthild, Frank) about how interesting these birds were. The local Germans looked less impressed, but then they've seen it all before. Paula and I did watches later in the afternoon - me at SBE1 and EDM, & Paula at BRI and CCL. AWP was QRing with someone who was not ARP at SBE3 - Perhaps ARP did die after being injured in a mistnet last June. AYY and RWR both seemed to have disappeared from SBE1. In fact, AWP was expanding his area toward SBE 1b. What if partnerships are so tight that a ?? loses the perch entirely if the ? is gone? Meghan sent a note - says she sent her few observations to me during an anthrax scare and didn't make copies. She may come & visit before we leave.
